I created this piece for a portfolio called Parallel Synchronized Randomness. WOW. I mean, that basically describes my life, as well as my artmaking practice. I would maybe add “intentional” to that string of words. In “Vehicular Storage”, I started with some ideas that showed up in one of my etchings. I drew the top half of the image, then posted it on Facebook to get feedback from “friends” who all couldn’t wait to tell me what stupid shit they left in THEIR cars. The resulting image became a kind of connective and “synchronized” process. Everyone who commented on my post apparently were having parallel experiences with hoarding stuff in their vehicles. I was not alone.
