MIXED MEDIA
I created this piece for a show called "Artists Interpret Literature", in which we each chose a writer and made a piece based on their work. I chose Edgar Allen Poe's poem and became obsessed with ravens. Just before I made the piece, I happened to be on a road trip in Colorado where I started seeing the most beautiful ravens everywhere, as if they were all stalking me so that they could strike the winning pose for the top of the post. The text in the background is the poem in its entirety. I just started writing it out in ink and it all fit on the board perfectly.
