RECENT PRINTS
This woodblock was printed by a Steamroller Paving Truck in the back driveway at the Chicago Printmakers Collaborative's Steamroller Printing Festival in the summer of 2018. This thing was a monster to carve, but there are some really cool time lapse videos of the process on my Instagram feed. Makes it look like 12 hours of work took just 1 minute. If only!
The block was carved from a ginormous piece of MDF plywood, and only 3 prints exist in the world. It's easy to ship because it's fabric, and comes with two dowels for hanging.
The block was reprinted on paper in 2019 at Hoofprint, with the amazing Gabe Hoare finessing their big Takach press to accommodate this behemoth of a print. The mulberry paper image reveals more detail than the fabric print, since the ink layers can be printed more delicately on paper.
I have one remaining print available on muslin for $2500. It's a bit "saltier" than the paper version.
We plan on having another Steamroller event in 2027 - stay tuned. I should probably start carving now.
